Step 1: Quote

The first step in our process is quoting the cost of installation of your home generator. Simply give us a call to schedule a time for one of our sales representatives to visit your home. Our representative will visit and garner the information required to prepare a quote. The representative will also work with you in deciding which size generator meets your needs, your brand preference and type of fuel available. Additionally, the representative will walk you through the entire process, and answer any questions you have. After the visit, we will get back to you with a quote in a timely manner.

Step 2: Pre-Excavation

First thing we do is check with the town offices to learn of any local ordinance updates that we need to be aware have changed or been upgraded. Then we paint the generator area for Digsafe and submit a ticket to Digsafe. Digsafe then gives a Dig Date and Digsafe completes a survey and marks your property for any buried electrical or gas lines that could possibly be a hazard when digging. After DigSafe is called, Power Outage Services Company or our electrician and gasfitter will apply for the respective permits.

Step 3: Installation

After all of the needed permits are obtained, our crews will begin the installation process. Our factory trained installers will use our exclusive machine-setting process. Our excavation crew will then dig trenches for both the gas and electric lines (if necessary). Soon after that, our skilled electricians will install the automatic transfer switch (ATS) and hook the generator up to the house, and our professional gasfitters will hook up the generator to a fuel source. Once completely hooked up, the trenches will be backfilled, and the machine will be ready to be started up.

Step 4: Startup

Once the installation process is complete, the generator is ready to be started up. We will send a certified technician to complete the first start of the machine. They will double check all connections, activate the machine, and start the machine. Whilst running, the technician will test the transfer switch, and make sure that the generator is producing the correct amount of voltage and frequency. The technician will walk you through the basics of the generator and everything you will need to know as the new owner of a generator!
